The pitch of the roof was 12.7 degrees. The old stonewold and delta tiles let water in due to broken rain bars and the build-up of moss over the years leading to the old felt perishing in numerous places. The customer required a watertight roof ready to install solar panels. One of the only tiles on the market suitable for this pitch is the Marley Mendip 12.5. This tile was used alongside the Klober permo extreme, low-pitch taped felt. Each lap of the felt is sealed if any water was to ingress past the tile, with every batten and batten fixing sealed using double-sided Buylon tape to protect the rafters.
10mm continuous vents at the eave and the abutment vented, to allow airflow from bottom to top. All tiles laid on the roof were clipped using Solofix clips, with all eave and verge tiles also getting head clipped. Dry verges were installed on both sides. Lead flashing was installed to the abutment. No vents are suitable to this pitch of roof so a 110mm lead slate is welded on site to vent the kitchen fan.
We'll be back in a couple of weeks to fix the tiles around the brackets when the solar company arrive.
